Quick and Easy Recipe of a Healthy Apple Cake

Desserts are our best friends, whether you are in a good mood or bad, you will always want to have them. I love desserts and bake them for me and my family. So, this time I decide to bake an apple cake which is sweet yet healthy.How good it is to have a dessert which is healthy, isn’t it? It was really tasty, soft and perfectly textured. I am very happy to share the recipe of this healthy cake with you all. I have tried to make it simple for you by adding another names of a few ingredients and tips for preparation as well. It is very easy to bake and I am sure it will turn out to be really soft, tasty and with a perfect texture.
Here it goes…..


Whole wheat flour: 1 cup
Refined flour: 1 cup
Powdered Sugar: 1 cup
Cinnamon Powder: 1/4 Tsp
Baking soda: 1/4 Tsp
Baking powder: 2 Tsp
Apple Puree: 1 cup
Butter: 150 gm
Toned milk: 1 cup
Oil: 1 Tbsp


  1. Mix whole wheat flour, refined flour, powdered sugar, cinnamon powder, baking soda & baking powder together and sieve them into a bowl. Keep the bowl aside.
    Tip: If you do not have sugar and cinnamon in the powdered form then for best results, put them together in the grinder jar and convert into powder form.
  2. Take about 2-3 apples and peel them. Cut them into pieces and grind them to puree. Take 1 cup puree and sieve it into a bowl so that remaining pieces of apple are eliminated.
    Tip: Do not grind too much. Otherwise the color of puree will get darker (dark brown) giving the cake also a darker color which will not look good.
  3. Put melted butter and toned milk into puree and mix well.
  4. Start putting the mixture of flours into the mixture of puree in parts and mix well.
    Tip: First put 1/3rd mixture of flour into puree, then put the remaining in 2 parts and mix continuously.
  5. Now, add oil in the mixture and mix well.
  6. Now, the cake batter is ready to be put into cake tin.
    Tip: Grease the cake tin with butter and refined flour before pouring the batter in it and tap the tin after pouring the batter so that it is evenly set.
  7. Now, place the tin in a pre-heated oven on 180 degree Celsius and bake for about 35-40 mins.
    Tip: After 40 mins are over, take a toothpick and put it inside the cake and then take it out. If it comes out clean then your cake is ready, if it is not clean then bake your cake for another 5 mins. Repeat the process until your toothpick is clean. But, maximum time your cake will take is 50 mins.
  8. Now, take out the cake and your yummy and delicious cake is ready!

I personally like it cold. So I cut it into pieces and let it cool then keep it into the fridge for about an hour and then have it with cold coffee or whenever I feel like having it. 😛  After all, it is a healthy cake!

I am not being biased. Research has already shown that Mom’s cooked food is always mouthwatering and better than anyone else. It is the healthiest food one can have! But for those disbelievers, get ready to eat your thoughts up. Here’s a list of 5 best reasons for me loving my mom’s recipes.

  1. New learning every single time. Now that I want to learn cooking from my mom, I often stand beside her in the kitchen while she is cooking food for us. It is always a fabulously looking dish that she prepares that you just feel like grabbing it even in a full stomach. I learnt everything from scratch like how to chop up vegetables to a new cooking ingredient/secret or a trick!
  2. She doesn’t ever need a recipe.  She is an expert. She never needs measurements for ingredients, it is all fixed in her memory and tastebuds. She can effortlessly modify any dish to feed ten or twenty-five just by her experience of putting ingredients all by her hands. She does not stop while cooking to look for the ingredients or measuring them, so the supper is served on the dinning table within half an hour (be it any quantity).
  3. She is not judgemental about your odd tastes. My friends often question me about my taste for a combination of kadwa karela (bitter gourd) with boiled rice but my mom never does. Instead, she takes care of what I like and does not hesitate in supporting me in every way. She even cooks this dish just for me whenever I want. She is the best!
  4. She knows exactly what our tastebuds wants. We are a family of 5 and each one of us have different taste. But this is not at all a trouble for her. She knows exactly what she has to do and God knows what magic she does with the dish because we all love it! She knows our tastes and serves everything on the table according to our preferences. There is this one dish mutter paneer which I love eating only if she makes it. I like what I like.
  5. She servers everything with love. She makes the food with so much love that it is shown clearly while it is being served. She puts her heart out in the dish. It is so beautifully garnished as well as plated that you can’t stop admiring it. And the fragrance of the food is so mouthwatering that you can’t resist yourself from having it.
